Major cities of Nigeria are experiencing the best of football as clubs in the Gulder Five-A-Side competition battle for the N5m prize at stake.

Match centres in Port Harcourt, Owerri, Makurdi, Lagos Island and Ikorodu were brought alive as the non-league clubs took to the field.

In matches completed in Abuja, which hosted teams in the Northern zone, Sabon Lugbe lost to FC Royal while Lugbe United beat Medical Strikers 2-1.

Court of Appeal of Abuja defeated Tudun Wada FC just as Destined Planners sailed past Eddie FC with a 4-2 win and Nyanya All Stars narrowly lost 4-3 to Karu Stars.

In the Markurdi centre, Wadata FC pipped Akwashe FC by a lone goal while Demekpe sailed through on penalties over Hudco FC after both sides played 3-3 in regulation time.

In Abeokuta, Saka Babes walloped Baby Soccer 4-0 and Gift FC narrowly beat Bammy FC by a lone goal.

The competition in Oshogbo also got underway at the weekend as Golden Boys came from a goal down to beat Hamzat Babes 2-1 while Lucky Stars defeated Sharp Strikers FC 2-0. Formidable Stars also got a lone goal against Amokaye FC.
