The people of Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State have commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his sensitivity to their plight by attracting massive infrastructural development to the area.

Speaking on behalf of the people of the area during an inspection tour of the ongoing construction of the Inyaba Bridge recently awarded by Gov. Ugwuanyi's administration, the Transition Committee Chairman of the Council, Hon. Ikechukwu Ubagu thanked the governor for keeping his promise to construct the dilapidated bridge for the people of the area.

The Transition Committee Chairman noted that the governor through the commencement of the construction of the bridge has demonstrated his love and commitment to the wellbeing of the people of the area who have been experiencing difficulties in accessing the Council headquarters in Amagunze and other neighboring communities due to the poor condition of the bridge.

Hon. Ubagu disclosed that the dilapidated wooden bridge which connects Amauzam, Amechi-Idodo, Inyaba and Umunevo communities to the headquarters of the council, has been a nightmare to the people of the affected communities, as they usually travel to their neighboring communities through long distance roads.

The TC Chairman also thanked the governor facilitating the commencement of work on Akpugo -Amagunze road which was earlier abandoned by the contractors handling the project, adding that the people of the area will remain indebted to him for coming to their rescue when it mattered most.

Hon. Ubagu said that it was an uncommon display of leadership for Gov. Ugwuanyi to embark on such gigantic bridge project and other numerous development projects across the state in spite of the current economic challenges, saying that it is an indication that the governor is a visionary leader who is committed to alleviating the sufferings of the people.
