Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), few hours ago, laid siege to the Aso drive, Abuja residence of ex presidential campiagn organisation spokesman, Femi Fani-Kayode.

It was not clear why the operatives stormed the residence even after they have asked him to report on monday, but a source close to the agency told our corresspondent that ” it is a preventive measure, no one will enter his home to take him out since the invitation says Monday but they have to be there just to ensure he does not leave town before monday”

Pointblanknews.com sources in Abuja hinted that the operatives who  first visted his home at about 9am friday mornng with an invitation letter, returned with no fewer than 20 officers made up of men of the police mobile force and EFCC detectives.

Fani-Kayode had on thursday debunked claims in the media that he was evading arrest by the EFCC and that he had refused to receive calls from the anti graft agency.

He stated that he was not on the run, and there was yet to receive any invitation to the agency’s office to say all he knows about the distribution of the PDP 2015 campiagn funds, that has landed officials like ex NSA Sambo Dasuki,  Olisa Metuh, Nenandi Usman, Ex Governor, Achike Udenwa, in hot water.

A source in the house told Pointblanknews.com on phone ” They have been here since 12 noon , it is 5pm now, they over 10 officers here like they here to arrest a terrorist”

Fani-Kayode later told our correspondent ” Today the EFCC invited me to to come their office  on monday . I have their letter. I agreed to be there. Now they have  surrounded my house. The letter of invitation was served this morning and it was dated 6th May. They said I should report on the 9th”.

“Can someone pls tell me why they are at my gate? They can’t even wait because they want to detain me so badly and keep me away for the weekend.I never refused their invitation. Why all this? I leave them to God”.
