Mike Ahamba (SAN) has been detained and quizzed by the EFCC in connection with an alleged N23.29bn bribery scandal.

Ahamba was President Muhammadu Buhari’s lawyer in several election petition cases up till 2011. In 2015, he switched loyalty to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

Chairman of Cross River State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Ntufam John Okon, and Senator Chris Anyanwu were also quizzed.

They were allegedly paid N1.2 billion on the directive of the embattled former Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Nnamdi Okonkwo. He got N23.29bn from ex Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison Madueke, reports say.

Anyanwu and Ahamba were reportedly paid N700 million each while Okon is in EFCC's custody for allegedly receiving N500 million.
