CISCOPE Donates 10kg Of Seeds To Over 2000 Farmers Of Adamawa IDPs—Official

An official of Civil Society Coalition for Poverty eradication (CISCOPE),Mr Peter Michael Egwudah said the Non-Governmental Organisation has donated 10kg seeds of different varieties of crops to over 2000 Internal Displaced persons (IDPs) in Adamawa state.

According to him the organisation which is receiving her major funding from OXFAM,a leading international humanitarian agency supporting the cause of IDPs in the state for the past four years has targeted Michika LGA's farmers who have gone back to their homes of Origin after been ravaged by the activities of Boko Haram insurgent.

"After the recapturing of many communities by the Nigerian Army and many IDPs decided to go back to their homes, our organisation decided to go back with them to help them start picking up their ruined lives earlier enough,we have given them seeds and seedlings of different varieties for this year farming season", Peter said.

He revealed that plans are on top gear to support and help the Adamawa state Government who are planning of bringing back over 80,000 Nigerians that have been displaced into Northern Parts of Cameroon republic.

He added that one of the duties of the organisation is to make sure that IDPs are living in a Health and safe environment and such Deliberate efforts were made and 40 boreholes were rehabilitated in different communities, NFIs and dignity kids were equally given to the returnees IDPs. So many literines were rehabilitated,all refused and dumped that will post a serious threads to live were also evacuated at the Michika 1 and 2 environments

Markets Hospital and other areas were all rehabilitated to make it hygienic and safe for the returnees IDPs to live a normal live and pick up fast in their day to day activities.

He also said that other LGA in the state will soon enjoy their services,as one of their main duty is to make sure all displaced persons are living in a safe environments with good health facilities.

Peter who is over sees the affairs of the Program in the North Eastern region further explained that 135,000 IDPs has been so far touched with the Humanitarian services of CISCOPE and the support of her donor agencies like OXFAM.
