Medical Books Released At Press Club

Four books related to healthcare initiatives, published by the city based down town hospital, were released at Guwahati Press Club on 4 May 2016.

All the books, written by medical consultants of the pioneer private hospital in northeast India, were officially released by Kanaksen Deka, former president of Asom Sahitya Sabha and Dr Ramesh Deka, vice-chancellor of Assam down town University, Panikhaiti (also former director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences).

The writers of the book namely Dr NN Dutta (Soru Soru Kothar Sophura), Dr Rupam Das (Diabetes- Protirodh Kenekoi), Dr Ramen Baishya (Aponar Brikkadway Surakhit Kori Rakhok), Dr Dhruba Jyoti Dutta (Handbook on medical & surgical emergency- second edition) etc were also present on the occasion.

“We (down town hospital) have taken this initiative to officially release the books with the objective to create health awareness among the general public and to build a healthy educational environment,” said Dr NN Dutta, the chairman & managing director of down town hospital.

The function was also addressed by Dr Udayan Barua, medical superintendant of down town hospital, journalist Nava Thakuria and Mayuri Borah.
