SON Raids Yola Tyres, Electricity Wires Markets, Confiscated Sub Standard Goods

The Adamawa office of the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) raided Yola tyres and Electricity wires markets confiscated sub-standard goods worth millions of naira.

Speaking shortly after the raid, Malam Adamu Abubakar , state Coordinator of the organization said that the exercise was a directive from the headquarters of the organization in Abuja.

“This is national assignment, it was declared for all states’ offices in the country to carry out this obligation on sub standard goods especially tyres, cables, electronics and Gas cylinders Abubakar said.

He said the aim of the raid was to ensure that all sub standard products are flush out of the markets across Nigeria.

According to Abubakar, during the raid no fewer than 300 shops raided and that the exercise would be carried out periodically.

He called on the Nigerian marketers to always purchase standard and satisfied products and to avoid sub standard products.
