Nigeria’s Capital city of Power- FCT Abuja is set to host 12 West African Countries at the historic West African Philanthropy Awards coming up in June. The noble event which is billed to bring the finest West African Philanthropist together is aimed at celebrating outstanding contributions of Individuals and organizations so as to create awareness on the significance of giving thereby creating role models for local philanthropy.

The West Africa Philanthropy Awards is an annual event conceived to give proper recognition through the conferment of awards of excellence and distinction to individuals, corporate and communities engaging in sustainable social development through giving of their time, money and skills to worthy initiatives aimed towards strategic social development in West Africa.

This year’s edition promises to be unique by drawing participation from over 10 West African countries and live streaming to more than 30 million viewers across the globe who will be watching via the internet.

The Advisory board of the WAP Award calls for nomination for the 2016 West African Philanthropy Awards holding in Abuja, Nigeria. Suitable candidates for this award are West African philanthropic institutions and individuals who show a tangible commitment to lasting and institutional change, who are committed to genuine partnership with local, national or international communities, and who advance a vision/voice of African agency and self-determination.
