FG: No decision yet on 2016 budget

The Federal Government has declared that there is no decisions yet on the 2016 national budget.

The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, declared this today while briefing State House correspondents on the outcome of a four-hour Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Asked to provide an insight into the state of the budget, the minister said talks were still going on.

“On the 2016 budget, we are still talking”, the minister stated.

On how long the talks would last, he repeated: “We are still talking”.

The minister also stated that the council approved a memo on budget monitoring and evaluation mechanism.

According to him, the government intends to ensure that the 2017 budget proposal is presented to the National Assembly on time so that it can be passed this year.
