SAN FRANCISCO, April 18, (THEWILL) – The Lagos State Government has urged residents of the state not to panic as the Nigerian Air Force begins night flying training exercise in Lagos.

According to Steve Ayorinde, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, the exercise involves the usage of the C-130 Hercules Aircraft and the 201 Heavy Airlift Group and will last from Monday, 18 April to 23, starting from 7pm to 11pm daily.

Ayorinde then urged residents of the state not to panic at the exercise, as all precautionary measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the public while the exercise lasts.

He adds that the C-130 Hercules Air craft would fly very low in some locations across the state, but that there was nothing to fear.

“The residents should go about their normal duties because the exercise will be conducted with a very insignificant discomfort,” Ayorinde says.

“The only unusualness of the exercise is the low flying nature of the aircraft and the increase in noise level, which will be noticed during the six days exercise, only along the training routes.”
