The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 21 girls, mostly teenagers, engaged in alleged immoral activities in the state capital.

The Board’s Deputy Superintendent In-charge of Operations, Sani Sidi, disclosed this in an interview with the News men in the state headquarters.

According to him, of the 21 suspects arrested, all of them are between the ages of 14 and 20.

Our men were on patrol in the afternoon hours at about 12:00p.m. on Wednesday and arrested 13 suspects at Dogon Gida, along Abedie St. while in the evening hours at about 10:00p.m., they arrested another eight suspects around Tishama and Naibawa.

Mr. Sidi explained that all the suspects were screened and the first timers were released on bail, while those found to be habitual offenders were referred to the Board’s Legal department, for further action.

He added that the mandate of the board was to discourage bad deeds and encourage good ones in the society.

Mr. Sidi, however, noted that most of the suspects were from broken homes.

He advised parents to endeavour to tolerate each other and work for increased stability in marriages, to stem acts of immorality in their children and wards.
