Edo 2016: Obaseki Meets APC Leaders, Vow To Industrialized Edo

Ahead of the 2016 general elections, the chairman of the state Economic Team Mr. Godwin Obaseki has described his visit to the All Progressive Congress (APC) secretariat as one of the sure steps to Edo State Government House, saying that his coming was to seek for the support of the party as a vehicle to his political destination. ‘I am not a stranger in APC because I was here from the foundation of the present administration during and after the struggle I have been firm with the party.

Obaseki who was in the state secretariat to inform the leaders of the party of his governorship ambition said “I am coming into the race with fresh breath and thought from the co-operate business world where I have function all over the years. I am in the race to continue with what the APC government is already doing in the state. I am here to bring fresh ideas to our political process. As an adviser to major cooperation around the world, I am in the best position to attract investors and industries to our state when I emerge as the next governor.

According to Obaseki who promises loyalty to the party said ‘one attribute I do not have is to disrespect people. I have grate regard and respect for my party. Before I visit the party secretariat today, I have tour round various wards in the state and the movement is still ongoing. The reason for my ward tour was to get acquainted with our people as well as know the peculiar challenge across the state. The ward is the stool upon which our grate party is standing so I must give our ward leaders their due regard and respect. I won’t be a governor who wants to be the party leader. I will respect the supremacy of party and give all party members their pride of place in the state and the nation.

The governorship hopeful who storm the party secretariat with members of the state house of Assembly, commissioners, Friends and colleague was also anointed by the Female Governorship aspirant in the state Mrs Tina Agbarha who was present at the party secretariat during the visit. Obaseki who promise to build institution said “the first thing to do in building government institution is to put relevant structure in place upon which government can function effectively. Edo state is blessed and we have our blue print in place waiting for implementation.

While assuring the party of the land sliding victory of the party in the forth coming election Obaseki said APC has come to stay in Edo state.We are not in Edo State to test our acceptability or popularity. As a political party that is set out to make a difference, we deserved a befitting party secretariat that will showcase what we represent as a party. He urged other governorship aspirants in the party to support his ambition and collectively move the state to the next level.
