BEVERLY HILLS, March 25, (THEWILL) – The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the dismissal of one Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and the demotion of two other officers for various established cases of misconduct.

NAN reports that the officers who had their ranks reduced were a Superintendent of Police (SP) and an Assistant Superintendent (ASP).

This was revealed in a statement signed by Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission, and issued to journalists on Friday in Abuja.

Ani added that the commission rejected 23 appeals from some dismissed policemen for reinstatement and restoration of ranks.

He also disclosed that the decisions were taken at the 15th Plenary Meeting of the commission presided by its Chairman, Mike Okiro.

He said the commission's decisions have since been communicated to the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, for implementation.
