On Easter Celebrations
I felicitate with Christians in Nigeria as they come together this year in holy celebrations and drawing spiritual sustenance from the life, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus this Easter.
Religious beliefs are a fundamental part of our existence as a nation, thus, we must use the opportunity of this holy period to engage in fervent prayers for the peace, stability and progress of Nigeria.
The death and resurrection of Christ is symbolic. Among others, it symbolizes sacrifice and unequal passion for humanity. As it relates to Nigeria, I urge Christians to draw special strength from lessons from Christ's life and devote themselves to sacrifices that will move Nigeria forward as a nation.
Beginning today and culminating on Sunday morning, let the message of the season renew our hopes, believing that through selfless service at our various levels, Nigeria will become a better place.
On behalf of the Committee on Justice of the House of Representatives, I extend warm wishes to all Christians as they celebrate Easter.
