By Agbanashi Obinne

DEPUTY Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi has enjoined Deltans, particularly, Christians to take a sober reflection on the benefits of Easter, with a conscious attempt to initiate permanent healing and reconciliation in all aspect of human life.

The Deputy Speaker, gave the charge in an Easter message to Deltans .

He noted that the central message of Easter must be heightened and all forms of activities and distractions should be jettisoned.

He said: "for most Christians, Easter is a time for spiritual renewal for families here and around the world, to be positive about tomorrow, especially while reflecting on the sacrifice our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ made for the sins of mankind. It is a time filled with opportunity and hope, a time to look at old problems in new ways and a time for strengthening our faith in God through His son, Jesus Christ"

The Deputy Speaker, urged Deltans and indeed, all Nigerians, to reflect anew on the theme of resurrection, which is the true essence of Easter. "I urge all to take the celebrations as a time for sincere reflections and reconciliation. Jesus Christ taught humility, friendship, leadership and organization with exemplary character. As Christians, we must learn to be Christ–like in all our day to day activities whether in private or public". He added.

He added that for Nigerians to achieve their goals there is need to bring to an end divisiveness, intolerance and an urgent need to replace them with mutual understanding, love and respect. He said: " Our responsibility as leaders is to serve our people and I see my responsibility clearly. I have embraced it for the sake of our children who deserve a better and secure future. That explains why I always turn to our people. I urge you, fellow Deltans, therefore, to always support and pray for the government and Delta State at large. Let us join and support our Governor Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in the quest to ensure that we bequeath sustainable development in every sector to our great State".

The Deputy Speaker, further charged leaders at various levels to use this season to renew their commitment to their people and called on followers to also renew their prayers and support for leaders to enhance progress in tandem.
