The group warned that should the senator try to use repressive actions to cause rancor and disharmony among the peaceful people of Kano State, they would not hesitate to hold him accountable.

A pressure group claiming to represent the interests of Kano State, calling themselves The Kano Insiders, have called on former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who is currently a senator representing Kano State Central, to apologize to the people and Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje for his alleged organization of a violent rally at the burial of the Governor’s mother.

The group issued a communique signed by National Chairman Dr. Babandodo Adamu condemning the former governor, noting that they will not take the incident lightly.

They emphasized that when he was governor, Mr. Kwankwaso blocked initiatives that would have had a positive impact on Kano State, including initiatives proposed by his deputy, who now serves as governor. The group added that despite this, Mr. Kwankwaso’s colleagues did not disrespect him.

Today it is clear that Kwankwaso never wished his successor any good. Even from the beginning, he never wanted Ganduje to make it. Why doesn’t he pray for the success of the government if truly means well for Kano? Dr. Adamu said.

The group warned that should the senator try to use repressive actions to cause rancor and disharmony among the peaceful people of Kano State, they would not hesitate to hold him accountable.

Let me sound a warning here, because Kwankwaso thinks he owns virtually everybody. Should anything happened to the peace and tranquility of the people, he will be held full accountable.

The chairman noted that in Kano State, the people are expected to respect religious developments and values and that death is never used to settled scores.

In fact, in the Ancient City, if your enemy loses somebody to death, it is in most cases used to be a channel for reconciliation. Alas, to Kwankwaso, death is a means to create disharmony and show his barbaric beliefs, he said.

The Insiders were also surprised that despite the fact that the INEC has not issued guidelines for presidential campaigns, Mr. Kwankwaso uses his visits to showcase his political ambitions by distributing posters indicating his presidential ambitions in 2019.

This should also be investigated and if found, he should be punished for it, Dr. Adamu added.
