Gov. Ugwuanyi assures Enugu residents of more devt projects

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has assured the people of the state of his administration's commitment to commence more development projects that would address the challenges of dearth of infrastructure in the rural areas.

Governor Ugwuanyi, who spoke through the state Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Patrick Ikpenwa at 9th mile corner, Udi Local Government Area, during his routine inspection tour of the over nine on-going roads construction across the state, said that the state government is committed to massive infrastructural development especially at the grassroots where the majority of the people reside.

The commissioner noted that what the governor is doing especially in the area of roads construction in spite of the present economic hardship is a demonstration of his willingness to provide the dividends of democracy to the people and advance good governance in the state.

Engr. Ikpenwa  disclosed that more development projects are on the way, adding that the governor in keeping with his grassroots development initiatives has earmarked N100 million per Local Government Area,  as contained in the 2016 budget, for the execution of projects that would touch their lives for the better.

He re-assured the people of the state that the governor is determined to ensure that the contractors handling various road projects deliver quality jobs that would service them effectively, saying that it was as a result of this that his ministry has embarked on a regular inspection tour.

The commissioner, who appealed for special prayers for improvement in the economic situation of the county, reiterated Gov. Ugwuanyi's commitment to his vision to pay special attention to rural development and advance good governance in the state.
