Gov. Ugwuanyi restates committment to education …partners German firm on technical training

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has reiterated his campaign promise to the electorate to place a premium on education in his administration's development agenda.

Governor Ugwuanyi made the reiteration at the Government House, Enugu, while receiving a delegation of the International Training and Support (ITS), a German Technical and Production Training Company,   led by its Chief Executive Officer, Heinz-Joachim Kuhnrich.

The team was in Enugu on a feasibility study on how to provide technical and vocational training services in partnership with the Enugu State Government.

The governor expressed his administration's support to partner with the company in the re-positioning process of the education sector in the state, adding that his promise to the electorate, especially in the area of technical and vocational education for skill acquisition and manpower development is sacrosanct.

Gov. Ugwuanyi who appreciated members of the delegation for the bold initiative to partner with the government to promote education, equally used the opportunity to invite them and their associates to the forthcoming Enugu International Investment Summit in April, where the state will showcase its numerous business potentials to the world.

Earlier in his address, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Kuhnrich informed the governor that they were in Enugu to partner with the State Government to provide technical and training services to schools, such as the Enugu State College of Education Technical, Enugu, Government Technical College, Enugu, Government Technical College, Nsukka and other skill acquisition related schools in the state.

He expressed delight over the commitment of the state government towards the training of its students, adding that the company has the operational background to develop technical and vocational schools in the state through knowledge transfer, training and other support-based services.

Other dignitaries who spoke at the event included the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Uchenna Eze, the Board Chairman of the Enugu State College of Education Technical, Enugu, Amb. Mrs. Fidelia Njeze and the Provost of the Institution, Prof. Mary Ngozi Nnamani.
