African Ambassador’s Spouses Group to organize "African Charity Bazaar " at the premises of the African Union Commission (AUC)

INVITATION TO REPRESENTATIVES OF THE MEDIA

What: The African Ambassadors Spouses Group - AASG - will be holding its annual "African Charity Bazaar”

When: Saturday 12 March 2016

Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Who: The African Ambassadors Spouses Group - AASG in Addis Ababa Ethiopia

Where: African Union Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

GOODS and FOODS from all over Africa will be available from 9am to 4pm : Arts and crafts, fabrics, olive oil, dresses, ceramics, home decor, fish, clothing, regional beverages and drinks, paintings, regional dishes and delicacies Kids area available.

Objective: The objective of the annual event aims to provide support to charities and associations supporting vulnerable groups as children and women.

Outcome: Proceeds from the Bazaar will be given to charity homes and association in support of the vulnerable groups. Worth noting that the during the 2015 bazaar, the funds raised were allocated to the following : - Ethiopia Arise and Shine - Ryan Autism Center - Aisha Charity Association - Kidane Children Home

Participants: The Bazaar will bring together NGOs dealing with humanitarian issues, Representatives of AU Members States Embassies based in Addis Ababa, the Diplomatic international and continental communities, amongst others.

Background: Featuring on the agenda of the Bazaar will be an exhibition of a variety of African cultures and heritage from different regions such as crafts/ souvenirs objects, African cuisine, traditional cloths and music. It will also be the opportunity to enhance the richness of Africa's cultural diversities on a historical site, the headquarters of the African Union.

Journalists are invited to cover the Bazaar on 12 March 2016 from 9 am to 4 pm, at the AU Headquarters.
