Nigeria National Pledge – A New Proposal By Emeka Chiakwelu

Nigeria at this juncture of her political-sociological evolution needs a more reflective and pragmatic National Pledge to aid in the nation building.

I pledge my allegiance to Nigeria my country
To love Nigeria with all my heart in both good and bad times

Not to steal from Nigeria and siphon it abroad
To defend her dignity
And uphold her honour and welfare
One nation under God without division
So help me God.
