Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano has commiserated with President Mohammadu Buhari on the death of Minister of State for Labour, late James Ocholi, his wife and son saying it was with shock and sadness that he received the news of the tragic incident.

In a statement, Chief Obiano said the Government and people of Anambra State shared the pang of late Ocholi’s death as a fellow compatriot in the service of the Nigerian nation.

The Governor regretted that the loss of Ocholi and members of his family had come at a time all hands were needed on deck to prosecute the President’s vision for a prosperous, progressive and secure nation. Noting that anyone who scaled the rigorous Senate screening for ministerial appointment had much to offer, he counseled the President not to be dampened by the loss but to see the situation as a challenge to realise the mission of his administration.

‘Sometimes it takes setback and adversity to spur us on in life’s difficult journey. While it is natural to feel the sense of loss at occasions like this, the task ahead is to remain focused and attain the final destination. It would be a worthy tribute to the late minister by holding on to the national dream he identified with.’

Governor Willie Obiano observed that the significant strides of late James Ocholi as a lawyer, party bureaucrat and public servant reminds us of the need to make positive impact in the uncertain duration of earthly life.

He extended his condolences to the family of the late minister and the Government and people of Kogi State while praying God to comfort them and grant the departed souls eternal rest.
