As constituents of Abia North returns to the poll for the re-run election of their senatorial district, one of the major contenders and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex has declared to his followers to relign and support the embattled Senator, Mao Ohuabunwa.

He stated that he can no longer contend with the PDP having seen the handwriting on the wall.

Addressing his supporters, he said he was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before he left in annoyance when the Party failed to keep their own part of the bargain which states that he will be the next senator of Abia North to succeed late Senator Uche Chukwumerije.

He said that he drew his strength from the decision of Dr Alex Otti to decamp to APGA, which however was the main reason why he gave Dr Alex Otti the sum of N150M as joint campaign fund.

According to him, since the Party has taken over the leadership of the State, he cannot continue to fight its leadership through a party that is gradually fizzling out in the state.

However, he urged his followers to give their support to Senator Mao Ohuabunwa of the Peoples Democratic Party so that the state will be moved forward both from the Federal and State level.

Furthermore, he stated that his decision will go a long way in proving to everybody that he is not a desperate politician and that his earnest desire is to move the State and Abia North in particular forward.
