PETER OBI MAKES SHOCKING DONATIONS TO APLSCD, URGES NDI ANAMBRA TO RISE UP AND SUPPORT THE HELPLESS GROUP SINCERELY.

Members of Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder leaped in joy as former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi presented a surprise bounty cheque of N500k to the Association during the burial ceremony of Madam Juliana Ebebe, the mother of Rev. Fr. Cosmos Ebebe who is one of the Board of Trustees of the Association and Chief Sylvester Nwaobualor.

The president of the Association Mr. Uchenna Chukwukelu From Aguata Local Government Area was highly elated at the presentation, which he said came to the Association as a huge surprise since they have never called on the former governor for help.

He described the magnanimity of Peter Obi as an exemplary lesson that ought to be learnt by every Nigerian.

Peter Obi who has been known for his generosity and kind heart even as a governor and after leaving the government house was touched by the story of the sufferers who had been neglected by the society and deprived of their rights by some selfish gluttons in the State Ministry of health. He wasted no time in extending his long hands of generosity to the Association.

Presenting the Cheque to the Association after the burial mass at Madona Catholic Church Agulu, Mr. Obi urged the Association never to relent in their efforts of sensitisation and to always call on him anytime they needed help, which he would always gladly render. According to him, such associations are ones that ought to be taken seriously because of the high sensitive nature of their case.

The Coordinator of the Association, Aisha Edwards who received the cheque on behalf of the Association was literally in tears as she thanked Obi for such benevolence. She said that the donation which came as a surprise gift would help the Association pay for the over 5 shops it acquired for her members from Anambra State and the Outstanding school fees of some of her members.

According to her, she has never written to Peter Obi for aid and was shocked at the impromptu donation that would change many lives of her members. She said she had expected the usual appointments as typical with politicians, but was amazed when Mr. Obi signed a cheque right before her eyes without any prior meeting, at Last I had an Opportunity to meet a role model I have Long admired, and I was not disappointed one bit, Its a new Dawn for us and i pray the Association enjoys the relationship while it last.

She said: "I have never met or written to Obi before, this is our first meeting and he was moved by our story and decided to donate to our cause. Unlike some bad eggs in the ministry of health who we have virtually grovelled before them, but they prefer to treat us like scums. This people literally wish my people death and crisis so that their business will thrive with the help of their Deceitful NGO Merchants in the guise of consultants who trading with my peoples live under the watch of the professionals there, But I believed so much in the Law of Karma, Natural and Divine Justice. If everybody could be as philanthropic and kind hearted as Obi, then there would be lasting peace in the country"

Rev. Fr. Cosmos Ebebe whose mother's burial was the occasion of the surprise gift, thanked Mr. Obi for showing love to the Association. While speaking during the burial, he urged other well meaning individuals to queue into Mr. Obi's gesture and help the Association, as their cause was one that everyone should help out with, because they never caused this disorder but inherited it from the ignorance of their parents. He also warn the NGO scammers to stay away from this sensitive group for conscience sake, Advised potential couple to heed the clarion call on their sensitization on career marriages to avert future dangers and regrets, He finally made a passionate appeal to the Government to made good their promises to the group to compliment the good work started by Mrs Obiano.

In the same vein of soliciting for support, two members of the Association have called out on their Local Governments to come to their aid. Mr. Okechukwu Maduabuchi of Dunukofia L.G.A and Mr. Ifeanyi Anigbogu of Njikoka L.G.A made the call while giving their reactions to Press. They lamented that several letters have been sent to the Local Government Chairmen but without any positive response from them.

According to them they are not beggars, but seek the support of their Local Government Chairmen to be able to strengthen their means of livelihood and equally augment their hospital bills. They said that if government could come to their aid and support, then they wouldn't be running back to them each time they fall sick. They seek for support not alms.

The Association through her President Mr. Uchenna Chukwukelu applauded Mr. Obi for his support to the organization, and promised that the Association shall utilize the donatio effectively. He also urged other well meaning Individuals, the government and churches to seek out ways they could aid in the sensitisation campaign of the Association.

He concluded with a warning to those seeking to defraud Nigerians with their cause, to desist from the act, as the Association is prepared to fight her cause to the last.
