Nigeria Remains 11th Best In Africa

SAN FRANCISCO, March 03, (THEWILL) – Nigeria has retained its position as the eleventh best team in Africa but rose up one spot to 62nd place in the latest FIFA ranking.

Nigeria is ranked below Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Algeria, Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal, Egypt, Congo DR, Congo and Cameroon.

Cape Verde, the current best team in Africa, moved two places up to number 31 in the world, while reigning African Champion Cote d'Ivoire dropped eight places to place 36th.

Super Eagles' opponent in next month's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, Egypt, moved two places up to rank 53rd in the world and seventh in Africa.

Belgium, Argentina, Spain, Germany and Chile occupy the top five positions respectively while Brazil is the current sixth best team in the ranking.
