Police Arrests Three Rape Gang Suspects In Delta

The Police in Delta State said it has arrested three persons who are presently cooling their heels at the police command for gang raping a 15 year old girl.

The suspects are, Kenneth Okoro, Ability A. Ogwu and Ogwe Paul.

Kenneth, the alleged kingpin in the crime is 58 years old, while Ability, who was his second in command, is 65 and Paul, another accomplice, is 70.

The suspects, according to the victim’s mother, one Patricia Oroyelu, of Aliesime in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the state, took advantage of her daughter’s ill health.

According to Oroyelu, she reported the matter to the police on February 19, this month, when she discovered that the suspects have severally defiled her 15 year old girl, one Loveth Oroyelu.

Based on the report, said the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, in Asaba, “detective swung into action and arrested the aforementioned suspects for investigation.”

Kalu, who narrated how the patrol team attached to the police station, Agbor Division on tip off foiled an attempt by two armed men to snatch a motorcycle from one Arinze Obagher, before arresting one Oghenero Ipopo, whose accomplice, said the gang rape suspects would be charged to court with immediate effect.

She listed the items recovered from the motorcycle robbers to include, one cut to size single barrel gun and live cartridge.

Meanwhile, three of the kidnappers who abducted the Ubulu-Uku monarch, Obi Edward Akaeze Ofulue III and subsequently murdered him are still in the police custody while three who now at large are been trailed by the police.

The PPRO said the only female among them, Farida Abubakar, a girlfriend to Garba Abubakar, alias Dogo, was only used to apprehend him.

When asked if they have been charged to court, she said, “If we charge them to court now, the rest will run. So, they are still in police custody as investigation is still on”.
