Kano community To Benefit From French Energy Project

The French Development Agency, has set aside 500, 000 euros for a renewable energy project, using French technology, at Ganduje in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, the area where kano state governor dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje came from.

Already, feasibility project has been undertaken for the project, which would serve 500 families and is said to be reliable and replicable. It is the first demonstration project by the French agency in northern Nigeria and is a milestone in the use of renewable energy in the country.

Speaking while receiving the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Denys Gauer in his office, this morning Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje describe the project as a welcome development, since many rural communities in the state were yet to be connected to the national power grid.

Gauer further explained that besides the renewable energy project, his government intended to support the Kano State Government in water resources management, agricultural development, urban development, development of small and medium enterprises, as well as revenue collection.
