AKSG Commences Dakkada Awareness Campaign In Eket

As part of efforts to create awareness and mobilize the people to embrace government programmes, the State Directorate on Marketing and Brand Management on Thursday flagged of an awareness and mobilisation campaign in Eket federal constituency to brief the people on the dakkada philosophy and the development programmes of the Udom administration.

The well attended ceremony drew youths from the four local government areas in Eket federal constituency with Royal fathers and top government personalities and the political class in attendance. Among whom were the paramount Ruler of Eket Obong E. C.D Abia, Brig Gen, Anthony Etukudoh, Commissioner for Education, Mr Aniekan Akpan, Ntisong Ibibio, Engr. Essien Ekidem, Chairman Technical Committee on Agric and Food sufficiency, Prof Edet Udo.

Setting the Tone the Snr. Special Assistant to the Governor on Marketng and Brand management Mr Samuel Edoho said that Dakkada is the new inspiration that aims at propelling Akwa ibom citizens to greatness.

He said the Vision for the social rebirth was inaugurated by Gov Udom Emmanuel with a call on Akwa Ibom people to rise to greatness above all biases and ethnicity and inculcate the virtue of hardwork.

The Governor’s aide said Governor Emmanuel has demonstrated his commitment to make the state a destination of choice.

He said the taking of the campaigns to the various constituencies is to strengthen the consciousness and deepen the understanding of the government’s programmes. Mr Edoho who took time to show case all the government programmes from industrialisation to road infrastructure told the participants that government was on course to provide superior performance. He called on the youths to explore their latent potentials for greatness to merit the dakkada ambassadorship.

The commissioner for Educatn, Mr Aniekan Akpan said almost all the publc schools in the state are I.C.T compliant and teachers are to teach based on their subject of specialization.

Mr Akpan said that more than two hundred and fifty laptops have been distributed to schools and development partners such as SAMSUNG are supportng the I.C.T programme. He said that education is free in the state and the government is not relenting in providing qualitative education that would make the pupils compete favourably with their contemporaries anywhere.

The chairman of the state technical committee on Agriculture, Prof Edet Udo said Agriculture holds the magic wand for Economic revival, and charged all to invest in Agriculture for sustainable development. The Transition committee chairman for Eket, Mr Frank Archibong expressed delight on the choice of Eket for the flagoff and said Eket has always been in the fore front for development.

Archibong congratulated Gov. Emmanuel on the supreme court verdict and pledged the support of his people to the programmes of the government.

On his part, the Paramount Ruler E.C.D Abia said AKWA IBOM has been blessed with good leaders. He congratulated Gov. Emmanuel for the vision and charged all to make the vision a success.

Certificates were presntd to all the participants while the special guest were decorated with dakkada lapels. In an interview the S.A on MARKETING and brand management, Mr Ime Uwah expressed delight at the turnout and announced plans to visit all the ten federal constituencies to drive home the Dakada philosophy.
