RAPE and SEXUAL ABUSE are two societal ills that plague and beleaguer the African continent up till this moment. According to statistics, there are about twenty six million (26,000,000) incidences of rape in Africa, annually. Of this amount, four million (4,000,000) are male and of the estimated twenty two million (22,000,000) girls and women who are raped yearly, only three million (3,000,000) report and lay charges.

These are big numbers for a continent of one billion plus people (1.2 billion to be precise but it is in our hands to make the Change we want to see. Africans must work together to eradicate the scourge of rape in our continent and it is as a result of this, the book ZAINABwas written – to uphold the Anti-Rape Campaign and give fire to the Crusade against CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE.

ZAINAB is a social piece that mirrors a Canker Worm that has eaten deep into the fabrics of the nation – RAPE. It follows the story of a young girl who becomes a victim of Love and Trust. She is raped by her own Uncle at the tender age of eight and we are taken through the horrid experience at the hands of her assailant.

Here are comments from two of our Readers:
“Oh my GOD! I never knew is this what rape victims go through?! I have heard of rape and seen rape victims but I have never felt the way they feel until I read this book. I am now going to be more vocal against Rape of any kind.”

- Mrs Okuns, T., UK
“I cried and cried throughout the time I read ZAINAB! Rape is terrible and I am right now traumatized. We as parents have a lot to do in protecting our children. I am most especially grateful to the author ofthis book for providing ‘the Five Laws of the Girls Code’. My children have been learning it all morning.”

- Mrs Balogun Ibidapo, Lagos

"Uncle Hassan pressed his penis against my vagina opening again and it sent a piercing pain from the base of my spine to the top of my head. I screamed from excruciating agony...

He was sweating and panting and he continued to push his penis deep into my body. The weight of his body was crushing my chest and his penis was tearing my body apart! I could not withstand the pain anymore and I passed out..."
