The Kano State Consumer Protection Council has raised the alarm over circulation of fake Products and the increase of activities of those who forge other people’s products.

The Executive Secretary of the Council, Alh. Gali Sule, said that the agency had arrested two Chinese nationals and confiscated from them some new bubble gums carrying Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite and Pepsi names and logo, which were actually not products of the said companies.

He stated that apart from false labels the said products had no certification number of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) which made consuming such products unsafe.

He said that there was the need for parents to be mindful of what they give to their children as some persons had resorted to producing and supplying fake sweets, bubble gums, as well as juice which are all items patronised by children, and lastly assured the good people of kano that they will do everything possible to serve better so as to stop this kind of people by any means
