AG Construction Company Has Absconded With N10B Of Adamawa State Gov’t

Adamawa state House of Assembly during a plenary raised an alarm over a contract awarded to AG Vision construction company to rehabilitate and construct roads in some parts of the state but absconded without completing the contract deal.

The lawmakers revealed that the contracts was awarded since 2007,2009 and 2010 to construct Gombi- Ga'anda road costing N5 billion and N3billion was paid, the Work was 30% half way done, 70% of the work was left undone.

The story is the same in Pella linking Maiha of Hong LGA,were the road was to be rehabilitated at the initial cost of 2.9B in 2007 in 20 months completion period of time, the sum amount was revised to be constructed at the cost of 7Billion naira and payment of 5Billion was made, only 50% of the job was done.

Another road was awarded to the same company in Michika LGA at the cost of 2Billion naira only 30% of work was done.

Investigation also revealed that there are similar cases in Fofure, Ganye and Jada LGAs where contractors were noticed abandoning site without formal notice or prior knowledge of those given the contracts to them.

The lawmaker representing Hong constituency and the information officer of the House, Hon Hassan Barguma Mamman said as a matter of urgency the House should invite both the contractors and Ministry of works to explain why those contracts were not executed.

According to him this is the era of change every body must be accountable to the people that voted them into power and they will follow up the issue until every company awarded contracts by the Adamawa state Government complete their work as stipulated in the contracts agreement.

Efforts to reach AG vision construction company were made through phone calls, visits to their sites prove abortive
