A social-cultural organization in the Niger Delta, the Isoko Vanguard For Change, has strongly condemned the recent raid on the Abuja residence of H.R.H A.J. Turner, Obigbo 1, the Obanema of Opume by men of the Directorate of State Security, DSS.

Spokesman of the group, Comrade Gilead Ekomeko Omoha who made the condemnation while speaking to newsmen in reaction to the incident in Asaba the Delta State capital, described the act as an astute disregard to the traditional institution particularly monarchs of the Niger Delta region of the country.

Comrade Omoha said the raid was no doubt one of the latest lopsided attempts by the Buhari administration to carry-out its political war against men of former President Goodluck Jonathan's administration in the guise of fighting corruption.

He argued that for whatever reason, it was wrong for the operatives of the DSS to raid the home of the royal monarch without any notice thereby encroaching on his privacy.

The spokesman of the Isoko Vanguard For Change has therefore called on the DSS and the Buhari led government to respect the privacy of every law abiding citizen not to talk of the traditional ruler.

Comrade Omoha queried the sincerity of President Buhari's fight against corruption in view of the fact that he has shown personal interest in this so-called war against corruption.

This he argued, was in view of the fact that President Buhari used the Union Bank of which he is a shareholder to open the Treasury Single Account, TSA in which trillions of naira have been lodged at the detriment of other commercial banks.

Comrade Omoha further argued, "Agreeing the Buhari Led APC government is fighting corruption by directing the opening of a single treasury account, would it be impossible for the government to monitor monies generated by the MDGs if more than one bank is chosen for the payment of such monies and why the Union Bank of which he is a shareholder?".
