The founder of Abia North Volunteer Grassroot Canvassers, Prince Oguejiofor Okoli, has described the Sun Newspaper’s report of 3rd February, 2015, which alleged stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has disqualified a frontline aspirant of Abia North Senatorial District, Chief David Ogba Onuoha, (Bourdex), from contesting the forthcoming re-run election, as a cheap blackmail planted by an unpopular candidate rejected by the good people of Abia North.

Prince Oguejiofor said among all those aspiring to represent the people of the area at the upper chamber, Chief Onuoha remains the most qualified and acceptable in the eyes of the law, pointing out that he, (Chief Onuoha), participated fully in the march 28, 2015 senatorial election which was stated by INEC as one of the major constitutional criteria to qualify for the forthcoming re-run election.

Prince Oguejiofor, further accused Chief Orji Uzor Kalu who is also contesting for Abia North Senatorial seat under the platform of PPA, “a party with only one man and his mother” of involving in campaign of calumny against Chief Onuoha who he said has the support of over 80% of the people of the area.

He said, “I still can’t understand why a man who achieved nothing for Abians and Abia North for good eight years he was the executive governor of the State, cannot give way for Chief Bourdex Onuoha that has a lot to offer to give us effective representation at the upper chamber. He has been rejected severally, yet he is finding it very difficult to accept the fact that his outdated services are no longer needed in the state. His stay in Abia government house was a total failure and the good people of Abia North Senatorial District, have resolved not to have anything to do with him”.

Prince Oguejiofor, however, applauded Chief Bourdex Onuoha who he said has exhibited high level of maturity by ignoring Chief Orji Uzor Kalu and his team since they resorted to their campaign of calumny, maintaining that the consequences will be to their detriment.

He affirmed that Chief David Ogba Onuoha, Bourdex who is contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has done a lot for the people of the area, which necessitated their resolve to give him their unreserved support.
