Enugu IPAC raises alarm over impersonation, fraudulent attacks on Gov. Ugwuanyi …calls for arrest of Adonys Igwe, others

The leadership of the Enugu State chapter of Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has raised alarm over what it described as 'mischievous acts of impersonation and fraud by some disgruntled elements within its rank' who allegedly laid false claim to its leadership to cast unjustifiable aspersion on the people-oriented administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.

Reacting to a purported resolution signed by Messers Adonys Igwe, Festus Ogbonna, Charles Arukwe, Sunday Onyishi and Gerald Abonyi purporting to be the Executives of the IPAC in Enugu State, the State Chairman of IPAC, Hon. Afam Ani said that none of those persons is a member of the Executives of the organization in the state.

He called on the law enforcement agencies to as a matter of urgency arrest and prosecute the impostors for fraud and impersonation.

Hon. Ani said that the persons in question were attention seekers whose stock in trade is to extort financial benefits from people through falsehood, blackmails and unfounded allegations.

He disclosed that the leadership of IPAC has taken judicious note of the nefarious acts of Adonys Igwe and his cohorts and has consequently written the National Leadership to IPAC to also enforce stringent disciplinary action against them to forestall future occurrence.

The IPAC Chairman while distancing the body from any untoward action capable of undermining the cherished efforts of Governor Ugwuanyi to reform and reposition the Local Government system in the state, expressed the organization's unwavering support to the present administration in Enugu State.

IPAC also reiterated its earlier stance on the constituted caretaker committees and the ongoing Local Government Staff Audit reform aimed at fishing out ghost workers and checkmating all avenues of leakages and financial misappropriation, which it said have been bedeviling the progress of the Local Government system in the state.

According to the body 'we state categorically that IPAC, Enugu State was duly constituted on September 28, 2015 by its National leadership with Hon. Afam Ani and Barr. Osita Agu as elected Chairman and Secretary respectively. We condemn in strong terms the mischievous acts by those impostors, led by Adonys Igwe, who are laying false claim to the leadership of the body and equally called for their immediate arrest by the law enforcement agencies as they do have the mandate to speak or act on our behalf'.

IPAC Enugu while charging the governor to remain steadfast and committed to his untiring efforts to provide good governance in the state in spite of the harsh economic realities, also called on the general public to disregard any statement or action emanating  from the dissident group as they do have the interest of the state at heart.
