Onuoha-Bourdex Files Charge Against The Sun, Orji Uzor Kalu

The candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Dr. David Ogba-Onuoha has faulted the report published by national tabloid, Sun newspapers, as owned by his opponent and former governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu following the move by INEC to disqualify fresh candidates from taking part in the re-run election.

The report noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) disqualified the candidate of APGA, Onuoha-Bourdex from participating in the re-run election.

Faulting it as being false, malicious and slanderous, Bourdex went further to file charges against the tabloid and proprietor, while urging the people of Abia North to avoid all acts to deter them from achieving the desired aim of saving the zone.

“It is very unfortunate that once reputable tabloid has reduced itself to the very level of playing dirty politics. A calumny one at that, the editorial board got themselves involved because their proprietor is in the race with me. Journalism as we all know is supposed to be about values and objectivism.

“If such values cannot be preserved, why then should we see them and their sources as being reliable? We definitely cannot. I have spoken to my lawyers, and charges are coming up against them. I hope they will be out of business when their proprietor will be losing out again from the race.

“Those who engage into such propaganda are renowned losers. If he is uncomfortable this much, it means his self-claimed legacy is an unseen one. A popular candidate cannot be that desperate. I know I’m his problem, because my antecedent and popularity is giving him sleepless night, but then, he should wait till after the re-run election when I will be declared winner,” he said.

According to the purported report with the headline: Re-run polls: INEC disqualifies fresh candidates, the body claims, “In Abia, the commission disqualified the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. David Ogba Onuoha. It cleared the candidate of Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and that of other parties.”
