Biafra: Where is the conscience of the world? 

Muhammadu Buhari and his goons have killed again.They murdered Biafrans again, whose only crime was that they were peacefully and legitimately seeking for a better country, Biafra.The killing was done last Monday, January 18, 2015.

The Biafrans killed were among millions who were demonstrating peacefully in many towns across Biafraland for the unconditional release of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who had been held in Nigerian gulag since September last year. It was at Aba, Abia State axis of the demonstration that Buhari’s Police and Army opened fire on innocent demonstrators killing three of them and injuring several others,including a pregnant woman.

Interestingly, while this has happened, Nigeria uses its agents in the media, both locally and internationally; to lie about the news of what actually took place in Biafraland. The latest and prominent of such lies was the news from Fox News, in which the medium did not only lie that the protest was violent, but also promoted Nigerian Police lie that nobody was killed during the protests.

Nnamdi Kanu is the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Director of Radio Biafra. He was arrested (kidnapped) in Lagos last September en-route to Biafraland. Since then he has been granted bail twice by the courts; and at another time, granted unconditional release, and yet Nigeria’s maximum ruler – Buhari – has refused to let him go.

Before Buhari became the newly rigged-in President of the expired contraption called Nigeria, there was IPOB, and there was Radio Biafra. Nobody had ever been arrested or intimidated, not to talk about being killed by government. The people had conducted themselves peacefully within the confines of the law, and Nigerian government had let them be. Nnamdi Kanu, their leader, had broadcasted from more than 40 countries of the world unmolested. Also, Biafrans had had meetings in all parts of Nigeria and all parts of the world unmolested. But since Buhari became the newly rigged-in President, dictatorship has been let loose on the people and the people are being killed left, right and center without the world saying or doing anything to dissuade Buhari.Even countries that had in the past shown themselves as being conscientious, and upholding the sanctity of human life, have joined in the sidon-dey-look attitude towards the massacre of Biafrans.

Buhari’s murders in this dispensation started in June, 2015, about 20 days after he was sworn in as President of Nigeria, a country which IPOB members have come to call a “Zoo”. Sooner had he taken his oath of office than he sent his goons to bomb villages in Cross River and AkwaIbom States. He claimed he was on the hunt for smugglers, but Biafrans knew that it was a show of force to them. It was only after IPOB and Radio Biafra shouted and alerted the world on the ethnic cleansing that Buhari had initiated in Biafraland, that he stopped. Since then, Buhari and his goons have taken every opportunity to snuff life out of Biafrans, just to intimidate and frighten the people out of their legitimate struggle for independence. We recount some of the deaths in the calendar of Buhari’s murder of Biafrans, which shows that from May 29, 2015, when he was sworn in as President and today, he has killed dozens of Biafrans.

For instance, on August 31, 2015, after a successful meeting by IPOB members, they decided to evangelize the city, to tell the people the importance and imminence of Biafra coming, and to invite them to join in the struggle. A combined team of Police and Navy ambushed them at Onitsha bridge-head, shot and killed five people, and injuring many.

Four months later, on December 2, 2015, at the same Onitsha, Anambra State, a young lady, NkirukaAnthoniaIkeanyionwu, from AdaziNnukwu in Anambra State, was killed in Onitsha by Buhari’s men. Several others were also injured. The young lady of about 19 years old was a student of Federal College of Education, Umunze, Anambra State.

Unarmed IPOB member killed by Nigeria police
At Igweocha (Port Harcourt) five people, who were also on the same protest for the release of Kanu, as well as for the Independence of Biafra from Nigeria, were murdered as Police and Army shot at them. This particular killing took place on Tuesday, November 10, 2015.

With these brazen day-light killings, one can then imagine the terrible things Biafrans go through in their private homes and properties when whenever Nigerian soldiers and Police visit them. We have had reports of cars taken by force under gun-point by soldiers as well as other properties taken away forcefully from Biafrans. Some were picked up from their homes and on the road and detained at the Police stations or Army Barracks until some relatives come to pay at least N5000 bribe before they are released.

There were also reports that some people were abducted from hospitals in Onitsha by soldiers killed and dumped in River Niger at night. There were also claims of corpses in hospitals there were equally taken away by soldiers and dumped in the River Niger at night.With all these atrocities committed against Biafrans, one is seriously left to wonder whether the world still has any more conscience left.

All these countries of the world have their Embassies and High Commissions in Nigeria, why do they pretend not to know of these atrocities being visited on Biafrans?The contraption called Nigeria is a country cobbled together in 1914 without any consideration for those that constitute it, and since then its unworkability has been underlined by the constant shedding of innocent blood as if to appease some gods.

The country was made to last for 100 years which elapsed in December 2014, why must the world keep silent as Buhari and his killer-squad continue to kill to keep the illegal contraption as one? Why must the world stand for the destruction of God’s creation (human lives) to keep the creation of man (Nigeria)? Why is it that while Buhari and his goons continue to kill Biafrans, the world and its leaders are looking the other way?
