We all know that Kim Kardashian is a bit of a chameleon – her incredibly talented “glam squad” is able to transform her fully at the drop of a hat – but a new Instagram photo of the reality star has left fans worried that she's altered her looks permanently.

In a photo that Kourtney posted this weekend, the 35-year-old star looks almost unrecognisable. Posing behind her big sister, Kim's cheeks and lips look bloated – leaving some fans speculating whether she's had cosmetic work done and others admitting that they didn't even realise it was her in the snapshot.

“Kim seems to have been getting more work done,” one fan wrote. Another was a little harsher, writing, “Kim's face seems to look like one of those typical botched faces now after getting excessive amounts of plastic surgery,” one Instagram user commented.

Other fans wondered if the star's puffy complexion could be a result of exhaustion or the impact of pregnancy on her body. She did only give birth a month ago, after all.

Approximately half of women experience swelling in pregnancy – usually around their ankles. But swelling on the fingers, face and lower back is also common, and a pregnancy side effect that Kim admits she suffers from.

“No I don't do fillers or Botox when pregnant like some tabloids are reporting, you would have to be really sick to endanger your child like that!” she wrote on Instagram while pregnant, after claims surfaced that she had tweaked her looks.

“Anyone who has been pregnant or gained weight knows your face totally changes! My nose gets bigger, cheeks fuller & my lips swell up.”

The photo also gave the star's fans a chance to analyse her figure, which looks incredibly slim and trim just a month after giving birth.
