Local EU Statement on Al-Shabaab attack on Kenyan Defence Forces as part of AMISOM

The European Union Delegation issues the following statement in agreement with the EUHeads of Mission in Kenya

Following the lethal attack by the terrorist group Al-Shabaab against a Kenya Defence ForceAMISOM location in Somalia, the European Union Heads of Mission in Nairobi expressedtheir condolences to the families and relatives of the victims of this terrible incident.

In order to show solidarity with Kenya, the European Union attended a special function todayorganized by the Government of Kenya at the Kenya Defence Force Hospital. The EuropeanUnion stands alongside Kenya and the victims of terrorism in these difficult times.

Acts like these will not deter our efforts, and the EU will continue to work with the Kenyanauthorities in our common fight against terrorism.
