NDDC JOB: Security Reports Halt Nsima Ekere’s Nomination

....Eseme Eyiboh Decamps To APC To replace Nsima Ekere....Pressure Mounts On Presidency To Drop Udoma

By TheNeighbourhoodOnline

Available information indicates that all is not well within the APC family in Akwa Ibom state following the incessant inability of the party to get its members available jobs at the center.

Finings reveal that after failing to land any of his party members with the Ministerial position as he had promised, Mr Umana Umana the party’s gubernatorial candidate is using NDDC Managing Director and other board positions at the Federal level to woo disgruntled PDP elders into the APC camp.

A close source said the Minister of Transport, Rt Honourable Rotimi Amaechi had picked his long time friend and associate Nsima Ekere to replace the sacked Bassey Dan Abia at NDDC, but the nomination was said to have met a brick wall as security reports against the former deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State are unfavourable and presented him as a negation of Mr President's anti corruption crusade

The reports we learnt indicted Nsima Ekere of fraud in government and some dirty dealing in the crude oil business, forcing the quashing of his bid and hope of manning the oil intervention agency.

This made the gubernatorial candidate of APC in Akwa Ibom State Mr Umana Okon Umana to woo the likes of Eseme Eyibo, Senator Alloy Etok, Chief Otu Ita Toyo and Mr Larry Esin.

“All of them have submitted their CVS to Mr Umana, but Eseme is seemingly more favoured to replace Nsima Ekere's failed nomination because he is from the same area as the sacked NDDC MD, and knows a bit more about the oil politics of the Niger Delta oil region,” the source said.

This developmemt yesterday angered Nsima Ekere who abandoned the fanfare of Umana’s reception and dashed down to Abuja to seek other ways of lobbying for the NDDC juicy portfolio.

It was gathered that Umana is putting intense pressure on the Presidency to drop Mr Udoma Udoma following his refusal to support and identify with the APC in the state like Senator Ita Enang is doing. He had asked Udoma to come and openly declare for the APC and generate support for his campaign, but the Minister of Budget and National Planning is alleged to have bluntly refused, saying he wants to focus on his duties as Minister.

It is not however clear if the president is ready to succumb to their ploy as Senator Udoma had made it clear that he would rather quit than to antagonise the government of Mr Udom Emmanuel.

But a presidential source however confided that the APC governorship candidate has pleaded with his allies in the presidency to delay the substantive appointment of Managing Director for the NDDC, so that he could lay claim to it if his present hullabaloo on the Akwa Ibom state governorship seat falls like a pack of cards.
