2016 Fiscal Year: Bindow Presents A Budget Of N120.1 To Adamawa State People

Governor Mohammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa state government has budgeted the N120.1 billion for the 2016 fiscal year, he presented the budget before the state lawmakers, yesterday and was nick named the budget of hope.

A break down of the expenditure of the budget showed recurrent component standing at N60,056234, 030.00 billion and capital votes of N60, 070,622,500.00. The governor said the administration's commitment of 50% of state resources for capital development is in consonance with the change mantra of the administration.

He noted that the vision of his administration remains the rapid socio- economic development of the state, stressing that the estimates for 2016 fiscal year have taken into cognisance the current economic challenges and realities.

The budget which was short on details for statutory transfers and Internal Generated revenues, Bindow, however hinted plans to raise IGR from preceding year by about 50%.

Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow said its focus for 2016 is hinged on physical infrastructure (roads), social infrastructure (Health, Education and Water; Agriculture and food security, adding that it would continue to give priority attention to infrastructure to ensure the well being of the citizens.
