Adamawa Assembly members get N1bn for constituency projects

The Adamawa State Government has approved N1billion for the state House of Assembly for the execution of constituency projects in 2016, the state Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmad Sajoh, said on Wednesday.

Sajoh made this known while briefing newsmen on the outcome the State Executive Council meeting.

He said that the money had been captured in the 2016 budget and that it would go a long way in the execution of projects proposed by the lawmakers in their respective constituencies.

'So far, about 23 members of the House of Assembly have submitted their proposals which we found laudable.'

Sajoh explained that whenever the fund was released, the relevant line ministries would monitor and that the projects were executed to specification.

The commissioner said that the State Executive Council meeting also approved the payment of N270 million for the purchase of three rigs with complete geophysical equipment for the provision of water in rural areas.

'There is also the approval of N954 million as counterpart funding for Universal Basic Education programme and another N71.4 million for the building of a befitting office complex for the state Fiscal Responsibility Commission,' Sajoh said.
