Governor Bello Is Determined To Improve Service Delivery In The Health Sector—Health Commissioner

The Commissioner for Health and Hospital Services, Dr. Mustapha Jibril has said that Governor Bello and his Wife are determined to improve healthcare service delivery with better equipped facilities in the state. The Honourable Commissioner spoke while inspecting a 2 Days training of Voluntary Community Mobilizers at Dokon Koli Hotels in Minna.

The Commissioner reiterated the resolve of Governor Bello and his Wife, Dr. Amina on the Health Sector while he implored Nigerlites to take advantage of the project which is targeting 3,400 hard to reach places and 550 settlements from 14 Local Government Areas of the State.

He further explained that the project will ensure that a targeted community gets properly sensitized on how to access healthcare services; immunization, ante-natal care, nutrition and treatments of childhood illnesses to mention but a few.

In his remarks, the Director of Public Health, Dr. Usman Muhammed who stood in for the Permanent Secretary Ministry Health, Dr. Ibrahim Umar Tiffi said the project is aimed at ensuring that hard to reach communities and settlements in Niger State have access to qualitative healthcare services. He added that, the Volunteers were selected carefully from 14 Local Government Areas of Niger State as follows ; Agwara, Borgu, Magama, Mariga, Mashegu, Rafi, Wushishi, Shiroro, Gurara, Bosso, Mokwa, Lavun, Paikoro and Katcha Local Government Area respectively.

The Project is sponsored by Canadian Government International Development Agency through Unicef while Niger State Government being the recipient gave her Maximum Cooperation by providing an enabling environment and all that is needed to have a successful training and implementation process in the communities and settlements.
