The Nigerian movie industry according to some stakeholders is actually growing as the day goes by with the quality of scripting and the use of latest movie equipment to shoot good movies which is worth exporting to other countries.

The industry which is seen as one of the highest employers of labour and ranked third in the world has seen tremendous achievements but one of the challenges the industry is faced with is the issue of piracy.

Piracy has been the major reasons why some movies are being delayed for release and sometimes are only released for cinema viewing alone. With many stakeholders crying due to the amount of money they have lost in their movie production, they continue to call on relevant task force and government to step into the situation to save the business and the industry as a whole.

The likes of Kunle Afolayan, Saidi Balogun, Ayo Makun better known as AY and many others have been the victims of piracy which they have seriously spoken about.

A trip to the Alaba international market where large part of movie sales takes place shows the high rate of movies that are being pirated and was seized by the Films /video producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria Lagos branch (FVPMAN).

The movies pirated includes, October 1, You or I, Wrong Selfie, Visa Lottery, The Advocate, and new movie by Yvonne Jegede, 3 is A Company and many other movies.

Well, as the labourers continue to labour in bringing quality entertainment to their fans, it is hoped that government will rapidly step into the issue of piracy to help salvage the situation
