Shoggy Tosh Wins At The 2015 Gathering Of Africa's Best Awards

On Sunday 29th November 2015, UK Based Gospel artiste - Shoggy Tosh won his 3rd music award at the 2015 Gathering of Africa's Best awards held at the Hilton London Canary Wharf. He was awarded for positively contributing to Africa's image in the diaspora through music and entertainment.

Shoggy Tosh won the award for his latest single initiative #Pamoto ft Henrisoul. The initiative raises funds for a less privileged charity - T.O.G.O. based in South Africa, United Kingdom, Israel, Pakistan, and Nigeria. Pamoto which has been downloaded by over 160,000 people within the space of 52 days is set hyuto be released as a music video directed by Femi Best Touch on 6 December 2015.

The 17th Annual Gathering of Africa's Best Awards hosted by Trumpet Media Group, London showcased and celebrated the best of Africa and Africans in recognition of achievements, entertainment and enlightenment.

The event hosted by Mosunmola Olikpe and Nancy Kitaka Mugga was an outstanding night that saw awards given to Ibiyemi Alabi (Kaft Trendz) for the fashion category, Kenyan Wambui Njau - Community Cohesion, Senator Olanrewaju Adeyemi Tejuoso - Governance, and five other awardees.

Other finalists on the night were Covenant Voices (South Africa) a multiple award winning gospel band, Rukayat Aderewa Basaru, and Eucharia Ihenacho Obih recognized for their contribution to Africa's community development, and Isaac Oyekunle Adegbite for Visual Arts.

The Trumpet Newspaper, concerned with the negative stories about Africans which is not a true reflection of the community and the continent, started awarding excellence among those who promote the positive image of Africa and Africans in 1995.

Entertainment was duly provided by Akpos (Comedian), Deoba Authentic (Music), Gbenga Gold (Instrumentals), Lydia (Fashion), and Stony (Music). A host of MPs, Mayors, and Royal guests were also present.
