BEVERLY HILLS, November 29, (THEWILL) – Boko Haram insurgents stormed Buratai Village, Sunday morning, where they killed no fewer than four persons.

The rampaging gunmen also abducted some teenage girls whose numbers are yet to be ascertained in neighbouring Bam village.

Bam village in Borno State lies seven kilometres from Buratai , which is the home town of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai.

Disclosing this Sunday evening was a fleeing resident of the area, Abubakar Ali, who said the insurgents attacked his village at about 3:30 am and set the entire village on fire.

Ali told THEWILL that the gunmen killed four persons and abducted some yet-to-be ascertained number of teenage girls.

According to Ali, the gunmen who operated till the early hours of the morning took their time as they “separated teenage girls from married women, set ablaze the whole village and left with the choice girls unchallenged.”

Lamenting the experience, he said: “These hoodlums always attacked our villages unchallenged, I am calling on General Buratai to do something about this for the soldiers seem to be doing little to checkmate them here.”

The attack on Buratai and neighbouring Bam came two days after the insurgents stormed Gajiganna village in Magumeri local government area of the state, killing three persons, including a soldier, and carting away lot of foodstuff before setting the town ablaze.

Disclosing this was a member of the Civilian JTF from the area, Abba Isa, who told THEWILL that the gunmen stormed the town at about 8:30pm on Friday as they started shooting sporadically in the air to scare away the people.

He said the Friday attack on Gajiganna could have been avoided or repelled if the military had acted on the intelligence report given to them.
