UNILAG Honours Obiano, Osinbajo, Others

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano is among the five distinguished alumni of the University of Lagos who shall be honoured in a special Awards and Recognition Dinner that will take place later this evening at the Multi-purpose Hall of the institution.

In a formal letter signed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rahman A Bello, the university explained that the honour is for its “eminent and worthy Alumni who have distinguished themselves and are currently holding executive political offices in various states.”

Also on the honours list is the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Other honourees are, HE, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, HE Mr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, the governor of Gombe State and HE Mr. Ude Oko Chukwu, the deputy governor of Abia State who are all alumni of the university.

Governor Obiano graduated from the University of Lagos with a Second Class Upper Division in Accounting and followed it up with an MBA in Marketing from the same university.

Obiano has continued to bring honour to his alma mater with an impressive performance since he became the governor of Anambra State with his recent 18-month Scorecard drawing applause across the state and beyond.
