Edo PDP Chairman, APC Leadership Pass A Vote Of Confidence On Senator Alimikhena
It was a harvest of a vote of confidence on the only APC Senator in the South –South and South East in the 8th Assembly Senator Francis Alimikhena as the Edo State PDP Chairman and APC leadership pass a vote of confidence on the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate describing him as the best Senator that Edo North has ever produce since the political history of the state and the most fortunate senator in the history of political alignment in Nigeria.
While moving the vote of confidence at the Edo North APC Leaders Forum in Okpella Etsako East Local Government area, the former State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Barrister Edward Sado said the motion for the vote of confidence became necessary due to the track record of infrastructural development that Senator Alimikhena has maintain in his three month in the Senate.
Chief Sado who is now an APC leader in Edo North sympathizes with the PDP for losing a credible personality like Senator Alimikhena who has today created the highest political history in the nation as the only senator who became an automatic double BOT member of the APC. According to him, the All Progressive Congress should celebrate the courage of Alimikhena in breaking through the forces of limitations in the South – South to emerge as the first one man caucus.
Speaking on the commitment and loyalty of Senator Alimikhena to the APC, the State Deputy Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Alhaji Chatty Mogaji said ‘In the political history of Edo North, this is the first time that a senator invited political leaders to brief leaders about his journey In his three month of service in Abuja. This is an exceptional character that we must celebrate stressing that the second tenure of Senator Alimikhena started the same day he won his first tenure. While describing the meeting as a new dawn in Edo North, the National Leader and Member Board of Trustee of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Prince Malic Afegbua who second the motion on the vote of confidence passed on Senator Alimikhena urge him to continue with his pace of development and empowerment activity. He appeals to him to make his constituency briefing a regular affair in order to keep his constituency inform about the happenings in the Senate. Afegbua thank the deputy Chief whip of the senate for his effort and contribution in helping to secure the recently approved World Bank Leon to enhance infrastructural development in the state despite the strong resistance from the opposition party to frustrate his effort.
Assuring the people of his constituency of his loyalty to the APC, the deputy Chief whip of the senate provided financial support to the Edo North APC executive to enable them hold a regular meeting in order to service the structure of APC in Edo North. He promise to commence his thank you tour across the entire Local government of Edo North in October as well as brief the APC supporters of his journey so far in the senate. According to Alimikhena, a regular feedback will be the hall mark of his representation in the Senate saying his constant visit to his constituency, is part of the fulfillment of his campaign promises to always remain a grassroots senator and not a senate in diaspora that is not accessible by his supporters.
