Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, President of the Republic of Mozambique

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, President of the Republic of Mozambique. The Secretary-General congratulated President Nyusi's recent assumption of the chairmanship of the SADC Organ Troika. They discussed internal developments in Mozambique, the sub-region, including in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lesotho and Madagascar.

The Secretary-General and President Nyusi also discussed the strengthening of the UN-Mozambique cooperation, as well as the President's development plan for the country and its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.
