Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Hailemariam Dessalegn, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Hailemariam Dessalegn, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

The Secretary-General thanked the Prime Minister for Ethiopia's key role in the South Sudan negotiations and emphasised the need to work together to ensure that the recently signed peace agreement is fully implemented.

The Secretary-General also commended Ethiopia for its positive contribution to peace and security in Somalia and Sudan, as well as its important leadership on financing for development and climate change negotiations.
