Horror! Couple's throats slashed at night in Enugu

Horror! A couple in the sprawling sub-urban town of Enugu-Ezike, one of the northernmost towns of Enugu State, have been murdered in cool blood in what has the obvious footprints of a ritual murder.

The setting is Amaja Community, a border village between Enugu and Benue. The victims are Mr/Mrs Marcel Abah,who had their throats slit, there blood drained into a container and taken a way.

They were attacked while sleeping on September 21.
According to reports, the incident was said to have been carried out by yet-to-be identified men,who invaded their residence at about 2.15 am,while it was raining and slashed their throats.

Incidentally, similar incident took place last year in Okpo community, which is just a pencil Mark next door to Amaja community, earlier in the year. The couples throat were equally slit and their blood drained off at mid night, even in the presence of their child who they allegedly left unharmed.

Just like the current case, the the couple's residence was remotely situated.This development has cast a fear in the mind of the inhabitants of the town, who are wondering whose turn it might be next.

Many of the people of the town believe that these dastardly acts are the handiwork of politicians who resort to ritual murder to fortify their occultic charms and amulets.

But some others think that it might be the work of those seeking quick money.

Vanguard cites Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, as saying that the police have intensified efforts to restore order even as the command assured that it will unravel the remote cause of the incident and unmask its perpetrators.

“The men gained access into the house located in an isolated axis of the town, had their throats slashed with knife like a sacrificial lamb. They were left in a pool of their own blood.

“The couple bled profusely and as a result, gave up the ghost before it could be noticed. The attention of the security operatives were however drawn to the unfortunate incident by members of the community. A full scale investigation has commenced into the alleged incident with a view to identifying those behind the dastardly act.

“The corpses have been deposited at the hospital morgue of Ogurute General Hospital for autopsy.”
