Olu Falae regains freedom from abductors

The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Olu Falae, who was kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen on his 77th birthday, has been freed, AIT has reported.

Falae, who is also a chieftain and leader of the ā€ˇYoruba Socio-cultural group, Afenifere, was said to have been abducted on his farm in Ilado, along Igbatoro road, in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State.

The abductors were said to be demanding N10 million ransom for the release of the revered Yoruba leader.

President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier on Wednesday condemned the evil act, while calling on security agents to ensure that Falae wassafely freed.
